Phoebe's first cabin trip...

We went to the cabin for Phoebe's first cabin trip over the 4th of July weekend.  We left Mimi at the cabin on the 4th and traveled out and about as a family.  On our way out of the dirt road, we stopped to look at a turtle.

 Sister love time
Training for Ninja Warrior.  We packed a picnic lunch for the day and went the shops in downtown Blowing Rock and to the park.  While we were there, we learned there was a parade, so we stayed for that also.  The girls played in the park after lunch until parade time.  They were most interested in the rock wall so they could "practice."

Daphne made it to the top.

Both girls at the top of the rock wall
 Watching the parade

No cabin trip is complete without going to the Mast General Store for candy.  Jocelyn picked out some wax lips to play with.

Phoebe and daddy relaxing after a long day.  We are so glad daddy got to join us for part of our trip.  Daddy doesn't get to come with us most of the time, so it was a nice change.
Playing with sparklers to celebrate July 4th

Great Wolf Lodge...

For Jocelyn's 4th birthday, Shannon decided to do something "big" for each of the girls this year.  Shannon and I were planning on a day around Hickory, going to the Science Center and Kool Park.  We started out with Firehouse Subs and headed to Science Center, but unfortunately it was closed on Mondays.  We decided to head toward the pool, but it was incredibly hot and we were afraid of keeping Phoebe outside that long, plus, it was super busy that day.  We decided the best way to enjoy the day was to find a place that had an indoor water park...we ended up at Great Wolf Lodge.  It was so much fun! The big girls had a blast!
Jocelyn going up to the water slides by herself.
Down she comes all by herself.  She was so proud to be able to go without help.  She wanted to go down the bigger slides, but she is a little too short to go quite yet.  Hopefully by next year she will be able to go like Daphne.
Daphne going down the slide too.
Playing in the smaller water park

We got pizza for dinner to enjoy in the room.  We watched American Ninja Warrior, and Jocelyn has fallen in love with that show.  She keeps telling us she wants to train to be a Ninja Warrior!
Sleeping on the pull out couch.  They were still so excited.  It took awhile for them to go to sleep, but their exhaustion won in the end.
Daphne with one of the "mascots" as she called them.
She wanted to take a picture outside of the water fall.
The big girls next to the big wolf.
Silly faces.  This makes me laugh.  Tiff brought a stack of old pictures of us in high school/college.  There is not a picture in that stack that I'm not doing something silly, making a silly face, or being absurd.  The girls get it honest!

Since we were at the lodge for Jocelyn's birthday, they gave her an extra bracelet that gave her a free ice cream.  She wanted "ice cream dots" with her bracelet.
 Daphne had some too
Phoebe was adorable in her little swim suit.  She didn't get in the water except her toes because of her umbilical cord.  She slept most of the time while mommy carried her around to watch the big girls swim and play.

Jocelyn turns 4!

Jocelyn turned 4 on June 16th.  She went to my school on one of the workdays when we had to turn in my iPad.  She and Emilee were talking about what she wanted for her birthday and she told her she wanted a cake, balloons, and 5 presents.  Emilee asked her what kind of cake she would want, and this was her response...a strawberry cake with Ninja Turtles.  Happy birthday girl, you got what you wanted :) Emilee did a great job and it was delicious!
Singing happy birthday to her while playing with her new ninja turtles.
 Blowing out the candles
Emilee getting some Phoebe snuggle time
Aunt Shannon with all of her nieces and nephew.
Jocelyn in her new birthday shirt.  She was so proud of this!  Jocelyn is becoming a really head strong, amazing, smart, funny, wonderful young lady.  We can't wait to see what she decides to do in her future.  Whatever she does decide to do, it will be a wild ride for us!

Lots happening around the house in the summer...

Daddy is a great place to take a nap.
Jocelyn loves to play with legos.  She got a new set for her birthday.  She is learning how to follow the directions and build them herself.
 Tummy time!
Phoebe's first smile caught on camera.  She is a very happy and laid back baby.
Mommy and Phoebe enjoying the day to ourselves while the big girls are at school.
Jocelyn was caught in the baby swing.  While she is doing really well with the transition, she does get a little jealous at times.  She has been a great big helper though.  She likes to help a lot...even at 4am when Phoebe wakes up to nurse.
The big girls like to play with Phoebe during tummy time.  Phoebe is very intrigued by her crazy sisters, and follows them around the room with her eyes and moves around when she hears them coming.
Jocelyn is silly.  She came out of her room one evening while trying to get them in the bed with flip flops on her hands and feet walking around.
Daddy and Phoebe early in the morning on a Saturday.
 Talking to Mimi
Daddy and Daphne spending time together late one night playing the cupcake party game.  Daphne was teaching him how to play.

The two of them fell asleep together soon after.  My house has been a party house the first few weeks of Phoebe's life.  It's a good thing it's summer time.  People fall asleep where ever they can, hardly ever in their beds.  Sometimes the big girls are on the couch, while sometimes they are on the floor beside my bed.  Mom falls asleep in the rocking chair quite often, and there is no telling where dad will end up.  After a month of doing this, we are all FINALLY sleeping in our own beds!  (Jocelyn hasn't slept in her bed in quite a while)
Those two girls look very similar to one another.  Sister love!

P.S. Daddy does do more than sleep around our house haha!
