Week 3...

Mommy and I have been in the house all week working on my runny nose. We finally got out on Thursday to go see mamaw and pawpaw for a little bit. Uncle Brian was here all week to play with me, so I was happy. Mommy and daddy got out the video camera for awhile one night this week before I got really really hungry.

Two weeks old already?

Hello world! I am using mommy's computer to send some pictures of my second week here while she and daddy are napping on the couch. Uncle Brian doesn't notice I'm playing on the computer since football is on tv. We have had a busy, but fun week. Mimi was off all week to spend time with me and mommy. I like being held all day by Mimi! On Monday, we went to mommy's school to work on her classroom. I did not like that very much, my nose is stuffy now. I did get to meet Mrs. Story and see Patty again. I like her. Tuesday we went back for just a little bit, but I got to see Beth and John, and I got to meet LaGina. It is nice meeting new people, I get to be held all the time! Then we went to paw's work and got to meet Dr. Markley. From what mommy says, he is a pretty important guy. Mrs. Evans gave me some really nice stuff, and I got to meet the other girls paw works with too. They oohed and aahhed over me for a long time :) Wednesday we went to Mimi's work. Those girls tried very hard to get me to open my eyes, but I was too tired! I met so many people that day, I slept most of the afternoon. Thursday we stayed at the house and cleaned it up. Friday, I spent most of the morning SHOPPING with Mimi and mommy! I like shopping with those girls, I get pretty things :) Mommy and daddy had to meet a new lady that may watch me when mommy goes back to work. They said she was really nice and I would learn a lot from her. We also got my brother, Mac, all fresh and clean. He looked spiffy with his bandana on. Mommy took a few pictures this week (I still see spots from Mimi's camera though) but I don't have the ones Mimi took.
I REALLY don't like the pacifier. This is a rare picture of me using it properly. It's just so hard to figure out!
All of us were really tired that afternoon. I was glad I got to take a long nap with my brothers and sister, and even mommy. Daddy couldn't get all of Mac in the picture, but you can see him under the table.
Mornings with Uncle Brian are nice while mommy eats breakfast.
I had my very first bath in the tub. I liked it once I figured out what it was. I splashed all around and got mommy wet. She laughed at me and cleaned me off really well. I smelled pretty when I got out. (but it sure was cold!)
Mac and I spent some time playing on my surfboard. He is a good big brother!

End of week 1...

This week has flown by so fast! Here is a little sample of what we have been doing. Lots of sleeping...

Family portrait. Ooh at how rough Clinton and I look. We didn't know Bill and Eva were going to take family pictures since we were around the house all day.
Mac is completely worn out! He has been watching over the baby like a hawk. We also have been given food this week, which was amazing. Donald and Malinda brought over chicken and noodles, salad, and brownies on Friday night. The church brought over chicken and roast and gravy on Saturday. We greatly appreciate all of it (and our bellies really love it!) Daphne has had lots of visitors this week and has done a wonderful job of being okay with it and not fussy. We are truly grateful and blessed to have such a perfect happy baby.

4 days later...

Daphne has been with us for four days now, and already she is showing us her very strong, happy personality. She is adorable and has lots of adorable facial expressions.
She loves to lay on her surf board while mommy and daddy plays with her.

Last night the three of us were reading Corduroy and it was so cute. It looked like she was really pondering the book.

We decided to bring out the swing to see if she liked it. An hour later, she is still rocking in it very peacefully. I'm sure this new found knowledge will really come in handy in the weeks to come!

Daphne Lorac Eddings was born at 10:11 AM on Friday 8-8-08. She weighed in at 6 pounds 12 ounces and is 20.5 inches in length.
She is a very happy baby!

Daddy is very happy to see her
By the end of the day, the three of us were EXTREMELY tired!

Mimi loves her new baby granddaughter!
