Zoo for mommy's birthday

Mommy has just turned 29.  To celebrate, we took the girls to the Riverbanks Zoo.  The girls had an unbelievable time.  Mommy and daddy are glad we bought the van for such trips.  It made it so much more enjoyable and we could keep driving if the girls needed help.  This is at the entrance to the zoo.  Pumped up!
Daphne took her own pictures while there.  Needless to say, we had to delete pictures so she could continue taking more by lunchtime!  And yes, she has her binoculars on too.  Can't forget those!
 The big chair

Daphne looking at all of the fountains in the garden area.
She seriously has some sort of weird lizard connection.  This lizard did the same thing that the chameleon did in the pet store a few months back when we were thinking of buying one.  It saw her from across the tank, then came straight for her, and stood there and stared.  It was crazy!
 Running through the mist.
Even Jocelyn had to do it.  It wasn't too hot or too cold on Saturday.  It was just perfect weather.
Jocelyn had to see the fish up close.
 Mommy's favorite.
 Shark bait, ooh ahh ahh.
 Daddy and Jocelyn at lunch
Mommy and Daphne at lunch.  We fight over that cup now.  It's a good thing mommy's tea at home is decaf!

Zoom in and see the excitement!

Mommy had a wonderful time spending her birthday at the zoo.  The girls did great and it was a fun road trip for all four of us.

Oh how I love spring break!

Over Spring Break, the girls, Shannon, and I went to the Discovery Place.  Shannon had a class she had to take while there, so we got to tag along for very cheap.  It was great fun for us.  We did get to skip out on most of the tour, so that was nice.  We did get to come and see behind the scenes of the aquarium part, which was really cool!  Daphne got to touch a snake.
The next big engineer at NC State :)
I love love love that little smirk!
Daphne going across the rope bridge in the rain forest.
Daphne and her little friend Michael playing in the water.
 Jocelyn  was playing too.
We were there for over an hour just in that part!

 Playing with cars
Daphne is building a house out of magnets.  I was very tempted to put those in our stroller they were so awesome :)
Looking at the big gooey frogs.
Playing with little sea urchins in the water.
Going across the rope bridge again
 Back to the water
Jocelyn was singing and talking to herself
She had to have a little nap while there
Daphne on the bed of nails.  It started to hurt only when she started to arch her back!
I did suck it up over spring break and get a tattoo.  I know it sounds silly, but I have always wanted one that meant a lot.  These are perfect for me.  They are Hawaiian symbols of course.  The turtles are a symbol of peace, longevity, and freedom.  The plumeria flowers mean birth.  I got the pink one for Daphne and the purple one for Jocelyn.  I will be very excited when they finish healing.  I am happy with them.

Fun at the fair

We decided to go to the Charlotte Fair last weekend.  Daphne got to ride a lot of the rides because she is one whole inch taller than the minimum.  Her and her daddy went together on most of them.  Jocelyn and I took pictures.  Jocelyn did get to ride on the merry-go-round though.
The first time she wanted to ride in the chariot
 Motorcycle riding
This will be her future car.  Pink and sparkly!
Trying to tackle Jacob's ladder.  We didn't get very far.
Coming out of a fun house with daddy.  Daddy had to ride some of the rides with her because of the height requirements.
This one she DID ride by herself.  Her little head is sticking out on the left.
 Jocelyn just relaxing.
 Mommy and Jocelyn.
Our big girl even went on the swings!
 Boat ride!
She won herself a minion from Despicable Me.  She traded in a few of her other prizes to get the monster prize.  Daddy pitched in a game or two to help her too, but she busted those balloons with the dart like there was no tomorrow!
