Jocelyn Week #2

So we have gotten into a groove with two girls in the house. We have tamed the green monster (at least a little bit), and even ventured out a few times. Mommy is getting better at juggling the little ones. Jocelyn loves the swing.

We have eyes!

Daphne is a big helper

She even likes to read to all of us every night. We read Courduroy that first night. We read that with Daphne so it was cute to have her "read" it to Jocelyn.
One of our first times out, we took our fur boys to get rabies shots. We came back with one less boy. Cole got really upset about getting his shot and broke the door on his cage. He ran out into the woods, and we still can't find him. We are hoping he is eventually found, I'm trying to be optimistic (yet realistic). On top of that, we had parked on a hill, and it wouldn't start because the gas moved to the front of the vehicle. No I didn't run out of gas, I had almost a half a tank in the van! It was just tormenting me for being out in the extreme heat with a newborn, a two year old, a dog, and a missing cat! Luckily Clinton hadn't taken lunch break yet, so he ran home and got the gas can and put enough in it so it would start. Needless to say, I am watching where I park from now on!

The fam!

Someone had to play on the surfboard too

This is why I was all belly! Look at how she is curled up!

Great big sister!

The two of them taking a nap. Clinton enjoyed his week off from work :)

We spent our anniversary in the house. Clinton had to work that day. He picked Daphne up and came home. He saw Jocelyn and I were taking a nap, so the two of them went out to surprise me with a cake, some flowers, dinner, and some of my white cheddar popcorn. It was adorable. All four of us celebrated with cake and subway, and Clinton and I made night of watching Numbers until bedtime...WITHOUT computers, phones, etc. It was a very nice way to spend our anniversary.

For Clinton's birthday, we surprised him with a little get together. Jason, Brandon, Charity, Bryson, Brendan, and Shannon were there. We had pizza and ice cream cake. Emilee and Jason bought the ice cream cake for him since Emilee is always in New York for his birthday. The boys played poker after dinner, and the kids went to bed. Mommy watched another Numbers until falling asleep. Getting up every 2 hours makes for one tired lady. Yay for being done with jaundice though and getting to sleep a little longer. I fed Jocelyn religously every 2 hours for two weeks to flush the yellow out of her. She is much more alert now. Its cute because Daphne calls her "bright eyes" now.

On Monday (Clinton's actual birthday), we celebrated both Clinton's birthday and uncle Brian's birthday. Brian had to work on his birthday and was going to Carowinds on Tuesday, so Monday was the best day to do it. We grilled hamburgers and hotdogs, had homemade parfaits, and birthday cake. The family was all over at the house to celebrate the boys' birthdays. Paw was enjoying his time with his two girls.

The cake just about burned down the house! The boys are getting so old! ;)

Jocelyn Marie Eddings is born 6/16/11

We have welcomed Jocelyn Marie into our family on 6/16/11. She weighed 7 pounds 12 ounces and she was 21 inches long. She was born at 10:07 pm.

She was born with dark dark hair.

We called everyone after she was weighed and cleaned, which was after 11. Needless to say, Daphne was still awake and couldn't wait until Friday to see her baby sister. Since she was staying with her Mimi and Paw, the group was at the hospital until after 12:30 am. It was kind of nice though because Clinton and I got a little sleep after they left, although Clinton got a lot more than I did. The nurses even moved his couch at one point around the room and he didn't even wake up!!! I was up every little bit so I could either nurse or be poked and prodded by the nurses. It was a good thing we liked them so much! We had wonderful nurses that took care of us all day and night.
Daphne was getting a little tired at the hospital. Lauren with the new one.
We can already tell she is a daddy's girl!
Daphne got big sister stickers from the nurses. We had stickers for each foot.
Daddy's three girls.
Aunt Emilee had to come and see the little one. Big sister was right there too.
Mamaw and Pop Pop had to come and see the girls before we left the hospital.

Yay we are leaving. Mommy actually put the girls in matching outfits, however you can't see Jocelyn's outfit.
There it is! She looks so little in her bed.

When we got home on Saturday, Daphne wanted to play outside with uncle Brian and aunt Lauren. They started with bubbles.
Continued with the sprinkler...(and yes, Brian is in there too)
...and yes again, Brian is going down her pool slide

Sesame Street... Here Daphne Comes

Mimi and Paw took Daphne on a very special trip the weekend of Memorial Day. They started out on Friday morning and ate at Cracker Barrel. Then they went to see Sesame Street Live, where the three of them got to sit front row AND meet all the characters BACK STAGE! Clinton and I got pictures all day long of their adventure. We were both very jealous! :) It looked really awesome. The fun thing was, the adventure continued after the show. They drove to South Carolina and stayed at the Embassy Suites and then went to the Riverbanks Zoo for the day. Let's just say we weren't sure who was more tired by the end of this trip! They all came home with big smiles, so I would say it was a good time.

Daphne wasn't afraid of the characters at all. We were so relieved when we found out. Clinton and I were afraid she was going to be shy, but nope, not at all!

Yes, this is actually how close they sat.

Daphne loved the different animals. She would even use their real names. For example, on the way home, Paw asked her what her favorite animal was. Her response was "tarantula." Then she asked them if they were going to keep picking her brain. They died laughing. She is too smart for her own good.
