Off to Emerald Isle...

On Saturday, we went to Raleigh to visit Aunt Tiff and Uncle Joe. It was so pretty that when we got there, we decided to pack up the car and all go to Emerald Isle for the afternoon. It was Daphne's first trip to the beach. The water was FREEZING, so she didn't like it all that much, but she LOVED the sand. We played there for like two hours in a hole that was dug for her to play in.
Chapstick!
Clinton and I got in the water...oh it was cold until you were numb, then it wasn't so bad.
Tiff and Joe.

Clinton and I in the water.

We love the sand!
Sand, sand, sand.
This is my hole.

The pier.

See my pretty new bathing suit.

My first sea shell.

Crawling into the water.

The girls.

Jumping into the waves. It was so cold!
Our little family at the beach.

Board playing

Daddy and Daphne writing on the board. It was easy to use daddy as a step stool.Mac watching this nonsense.

I want to color more. Alison is such an intelligent person to put this on her wall. Yippie!

Look Aunt Emilee, I have chalk. I'm a big girl.

Spring Break Week

The week after Easter I had the whole week off, and so Daphne and I did a lot of playing around in the dirt, running around the house, and just having a good time. Here are some of the highlights of the week. Daphne got her first ride on the tractor mowing the grass with daddy. We were watching him mow on the back porch and she kept waving at him every time he would come near, so we let her ride with him. She seemed to enjoy it.
Paw and Daphne playing with her toys. (well, paw's new toy)
Hey Paw, that's my toy!
Standing up on our own outside trying to get some of the dirt on the other side of the wall.

Lots of playing time.

Look, a rock!

Look at me, I'm so good.

What a smile!

We like grass and dirt!

Trying to get daddy's trees.
Mommy and Daphne

Mommy's new kitchen gadget.

We did a lot of drawing on the chalk board. Daphne did this herself. Except for the square and the ABC and the scribble on the very left. We did that together. She couldn't get enough of the board.

Mommy I want some juice!

Easter

This year was Daphne's first Easter. She loved her visit from the Easter Bunny. She even dressed up for him. We decided to go to the cabin to spend the weekend with mom instead of staying around the house and going to church. Mom made a big lunch for us all to eat. It was very yummy. Daphne's new outfit.
Daphne in her Easter basket.
Daphne like the grass more than anything. Although, now we see the different teething rings all around the house throughout the day.
She liked her basket :)

Crawling around the cabin floor. She was our little sweep.

Clinton's wonderful work

I wanted to take a minute and give some recognition to my wonderful husband. He has been working very hard the past month or two on different things around the house. We have both been doing lots and lots of spring cleaning. These are pictures of our FINALLY finished landscape around the front yard. yay. Daphne and I love him very much.

long overdue...

So we have been on the move constantly here lately. I have three sets of pictures that I haven't put online, so here they are. The first set is what is left of the girls weekend in Raleigh. The second is from when we went to the Asheboro Zoo with Aunt Shannon. Daphne had fun, although half of the animals weren't there! We'll have to go back when it gets warmer. The last set is from last Saturday when we spent the day with our cousin Carly. We all went to lunch and then went to grandmaw's instead of my house, just in case the storm got really bad. Anyway, in other news, we have completed our baby proofing project, which we are happy about. Daphne is crawling all over the place and pulling up on everything. We are just hoping she doesn't start walking in the next too weeks! Time is flying by so quickly! Clinton has been working very hard these past few weeks to help me get things in and around the house completed and he hasn't complained at all. He's been wonderful and I'm so happy that he puts up with Daphne and me :) We are also signed up to be in charge of nursery one weekend in June. It'll be fun. We are trying to take a more active role in our church, so we'll see how that goes. We have also been hanging out a lot more with our neighbors now that they are back from Florida. Oh, speaking of Florida, Curtis is getting married in October, and we are flying down there to see him. He called and asked Clinton to be his best man, so he is too excited. That means we now have 2 weddings to go to in October. I'm guessing October is the new June for weddings?
Daphne at the dress shop. She was enjoying all the attention.
Obviously we love Goodnight Moon very much. I love the face.

Daphne wanted to help make pancakes on Sunday morning before we left!

Daphne is NOT interested in TV. She's more interested in getting into trouble when she can.

Fingers in the mouth

Daphne had to hold the map to the zoo. She was so excited. She even roared (literally) when we got to the bears and I told her that the bears made a roar sound when they talked. It was so cute. Mommy and daddy's little genius!

Aligators!

He sat and watched people for quite awhile.
Salamander. It's too bad Brian and I never saw THESE in the creek when we were little!

Oh I love my little family! They make me so happy :)

Carly and Daphne at Olive Garden. Carly is big enough to hold her by herself now. It also helps that Daphne can hold her own head up really well too! Carly likes that!

Carly trying to feed Daphne some yummy carrots!

She did a good job. Only a little got on my pants.

By the end of the day, the girls wanted to take a nap. It was so cute, Carly wanted to take a nap, so she went to grandmaw's bed. The next thing I know, Daphne crawled under the covers with Carly after her diaper was changed. They stayed like that for quite some time. It was too cute!
